Eagles issue encouraging update on RB Jackson after scary preseason incident

Philadephia Eagles running back Ja’Quinden Jackson laid motionless after the opening kickoff against the Patriots, but has full body movement according to the team.

Jackson was knocked out cold having delivered a hard tackle at the opening kickoff of the EaglesSaturday night preseason game against the New England Patriots, bringing the stadium to a hush as concerned teammates and opponents surrounded him. 

An ambulance and backboard was immediately called for as Jackson laid unconscious on the turf, with medical teams from both the Eagles and Patriots rushing to his assistance. 

Jackson was strapped onto a stretcher and loaded into an ambulance as both teams kneeled on the sideline.

Play resumed shortly after Jackson left to a standing ovation from the Gillette Stadium crowd, and the Eagles issued a briefly statement confirming that Jackson "has strength and movement in all extremities and is being taken to a local hospital for further evaluation".

It was Jackson's second appearance for his new side, having joined on August 10 after being waived by Jacksonville in May.
