The New England Patriots inflicted Buffalo's first defeat of the season as quarterback Drake Maye bounced back with three touchdowns in a 29-26 win, while the Los Angeles Rams surged late to win at Philadelphia.

On a packed day of drama, the Dallas Cowboys also edged a thrilling Texas showdown in Houston, while the Indianapolis Colts ran out as winners in the NFL's latest foray to London.

New England's Maye - who reached the Super Bowl last season but endured a nightmare start to this campaign - grabbed victory against the AFC East rival Bills, with a late go-ahead touchdown pass to Efton Chism III for a superb one-handed take.

That came after Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen appeared to have orchestrated a fourth-quarter comeback with a 34-yard hurl to Keon Coleman that made it 26-21.

Maye ended the game with 269 passing yards and another 54 rushing. Romeo Doubs grabbed a pair of touchdown receptions before Chism's game-winner, which was followed by a successful two-point conversion.

Even in defeat, Allen's 88th career touchdown made him the leading touchdown scorer in Bills history.

Eagles clipped by Rams

Philadelphia looked set to pile more misery on the Rams, who entered the season as Super Bowl favourites but were 1-2 after their opening three games.

Trailing 10-20 deep in the fourth quarter, Los Angeles' underwhelming start looked likely to worsen.

But a pair of late Kyren Williams touchdowns sealed a 24-20 victory, made all the more painful for the Eagles by a hamstring injury to star running back Saquon Barkley early in the game.

Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts twice found Darius Cooper in the end zone.

At Houston, CeeDee Lamb capped a superb personal performance by snaffling his 17th reception of the day for a touchdown to put the Cowboys ahead 34-30 with 40 seconds remaining.

CJ Stroud attempted a 50-yard Hail Mary pass with nine seconds remaining, but could not salvage a game that the Texans had largely led.

Javonte Williams led the Cowboys' comeback with three rushing touchdowns in the second half.

London calling for NFL

In the NFL's latest London game, Indianapolis running back Jonathan Taylor ran for two touchdowns as the Colts defeated the injury-hit Washington Commanders 30-13.

Taylor had ample opportunity to unveil his London-themed celebration, miming sipping tea after finding the end zone late in the first half at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and again early in the third quarter to give the Colts a 17-6 lead.

"The crowd was electric, the energy was amazing and I can't wait to come back to London," said Taylor, at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Commanders, already missing star quarterback Jayden Daniels with a dislocated left elbow, saw veteran backup Marcus Mariota depart with a right knee injury in the opening minutes.

Mariota - who led Washington to an upset win over the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks last week - was replaced by rookie seventh-round draft pick Athan Kaliakmanis.

Baltimore see off Tennessee

The Ravens came into Week 4 looking to get to 3-1 on the season, and behind 222 passing yards with two Touchdowns to star QB Lamar Jackson, they got it done 24-18, with Derrick Henry adding 73 yards on the ground and a key score against his former team.

However, it was an injury to Jackson that saw him leave the game in a walking boot that defined the feeling after the game for the Ravens, with Tyler Huntley helping Baltimore to finish the job down the stretch.

For Tennessee, they once again saw promise from former No. 1 pick Cam Ward who had 222 yards of his own in the air, but with the team ending the game with a total of just 85 rushing yards, it simply wasn't enough offense to keep up with the loaded Ravens squad.

Chicago continue hot start at home over the Jets

One team that has high expectations in 2026 are the Chicago Bears, and while they weren't dominant over the scrappy Jets, 146 yards on the ground from Kyle Monangai saw the team come away victorious 23-12, with the Bears rushing for 232 as a team on teh day. What makes this even more impressive is the absence of Caleb Williams, with Tyson Bagent doing enough to steer the Bears to the key victory.

While the Bears go to 3-1, the Jets are now 1-3, with all three losses being games they could have performed better in, but with just 157 yards of total offense, this is a game that they never truly looked competitive in.

Giants defense the difference maker against Arizona

The New York Giants had high hopes entering the 2026 season, and while it's not always been pretty, the defense did their job in this one, as Deonte Banks took a late interception 98 yards to seal a fantastic 36-24 win at home against the Arizona Cardinals.

It was the third interception on the day for the Giants, and while Jacoby Brissett was game in this one, he was outplayed by veteran Jameis Winston, who threw three scores and 250 yards on the day as they move to 3-1 on the season, with the Cardinals falling to 1-3.

Jaguars seal tight win on the road in Cincinnati

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been impressive in 2026, and with another mature performance from Trevor Lawrence who had 227 yards in the air, they came away winners on the road against the Cincinnati Bengals 22-17.

With under a minute to go, the Bengals had an opportunity to go ahead and improve on Joe Burrow's high octane day, but the Jaguars held firm at 4th and 10, sealing the win that sends them to 3-1 on the year, with the Bengals now 2-2, with a 1-1 record at home.

Packers hold on against the Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were hoping to avoid an 0-4 start to the new season, and while the team outscored the Green Bay Packers 7-0 in the fourth quarter, it wasn't enough as they came up short 17-14.

Neither team eclipsed 300 total yards on the night, but with 17 points in the second and third quarter, the Packers produced just enough to take down their NFC rival and move to 2-2 on the year, with Tampa Bay now falling to 0-4, with the pressure mounting on the team to get things going.

Dallas win high scoring clash with Houston

The Dallas Cowboys were 1-2 heading into Week 4 against a winless Houston Texans team, and in a tough NFC East, this was a game they needed to win early in the year. While Dak Prescott threw for over 300 yards, he had just one Touchdown in the game, saving it for 40 seconds left, winning the game in dramatic circumstances.

For Houston, this continues a tough start to the year, and while CJ Stroud and the Houston offense protected the ball well, giving up 399 yards to the Cowboys offense just wasn't going to be a recipe for success for the team, who now fall to 0-4 on the year.

Minnesota stay undefeated in close encounter

The Minnesota Vikings offense hasn't been setting the world on fire in the past few weeks, but with the defense thriving, the team took down the Miami Dolphins 15-10 at home to push their record to 4-0 on the campaign. Their success in this one relied entirely upon the defense and their kicker, with Will Reichard going 5-5 on the day to record all 15 of their points.

For the Dolphins, the passing game struggled, with Malik Willis tallying just 85 yards on the day, and now at 0-4, the team with a major lack of elite level talent are searching for plenty of answers.

Chiefs remain undefeated in division battle with Vegas

The Kansas City Chiefs have bounced back in 2026, and after missing the playoffs a year ago, they've hit the ground running once again behind a healthy Patrick Mahomes as they move to 4-0 on the season thus far. Mahomes played his role well, but in this one, it was 177 yards from Kenneth Walker that led them to victory, with a late score simply putting this one out of reach of their AFC West rivals.

With the 30-27 defeat, the Raiders fall for the first time this seasons, and with Kirk Cousins putting up 365 passing yards, the signs of a potential Wild Card push for Las Vegas are there.

49ers cruise against the Denver Broncos

The San Francisco 49ers have been fantastic through three games in 2026, and with a 2-0 record at home coming into Week 4, they were optimistic against the talented Denver Broncos. With two Touchdowns, Brock Burdy once again steered the ship as the 49ers defense flexed their muscles to move to 4-0 on the year.

The Broncos were solid once again, but the offense was just hard to come by, as Bo Nix and the team managed just one TD on the day, and now, they fall to 2-2 as they look to find their rhythm early in the campaign.

Seattle hold on against a brave Chargers team

Any fears of a Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl hangover have been quickly shut down early in the year, with the team moving to 3-1 on the back of another well rounded team performance. Sam Darnold had two scores in the air while the team rushed for a combined 138 yards, enough to rack up 30 points at home, with Emmanual Wilson getting his first with the team.

Unfortunately for the Chargers, turnovers once again plagued them, and now, with an 0-2 mark away from home, they've fallen to 0-4 on the season, and in an AFC West with several potential playoff teams, things could get uglier from here.
