Warner was dismissed for a golden duck upon return to Pakistan following his drink driving charge, whilst one Green shined and another faltered.

39-year-old Warner registered his 28th career duck in T20s as his Karachi Kings were embarrassed to the tune of a 159-run defeat to Babar Azam's Peshawar Zalmi at the Pakistan Super League in Karachi, which is being played behind closed doors to assist with Pakistan's efforts to conserve fuel.

It was the biggest defeat by runs in the decade-long history of the Pakistan Super League and was disastrous from the get-go for captain Warner, who inserted Peshawar in to bat only to helplessly watch Kusal Mendis (109 from 52) and Babar Azam (87 from 51) blast a score of 3/246.

Warner made use of a six-day break between games for the Kings to jet back home to Australia for the Easter long weekend, which ended with him allegedly blowing more twice the legal limit near a roadside breathtesting station in Maroubra, Sydney.

More than 2,400km east in Kolkata, Cameron Green's Kolkata Knight Riders suffered an agonising last ball defeat to Lucknow Super Giants to plummet to second-last on the IPL 2026 standings.

$3m man Green has attracted a lot of scrutiny for his awful start to the tournament with the bat and he again struggled to make an impact, despite posting a season-best score of 32* after being dropped down the order to number four.

Green's 32 more than doubled his season tally of 24 runs but came at a scoring rate of only eight runs per over in an innings of 4/181 at a time when batting partner Rovman Powell slammed 39* from 24 deliveries.

The Western Australian made his long-awaited return to bowling after Cricket Australia placed restrictions on his workload management in the opening fortnight of the tournament, but he went for 16 in the penultimate over of Lucknow's run chase after being hit for three boundaries by 21-year-old newcomer and Player of the Match Mukul Choudhary (54* from 27).

Lucknow's win was a big boost for head coach Justin Langer, who has led the Super Giants since 2023, and it came despite opener Mitchell Marsh being dismissed during the powerplay for only 15 runs - his second consecutive score in the teens.

Back in Pakistan, Sydney Thunder and New South Wales bowling all-rounder Chris Green was the Player of the Match as Islamabad United skittled pre-season tournament favourites Lahore Qalandars for just 100 on the way to a booming nine-wicket victory.

Green bowled the final powerplay over and conceded just seven runs on a slow pitch before taking 3-12 off his next three overs (8th, 14th, 16th), including the important scalps of in-form opener Haseebullah Khan and experienced Zimbabwean mercenary Sikandar Raza

"The conditions obviously suited me, and I was backed up nicely, but I think it was a complete bowling performance by our team," Green told the broadcast upon reception of his award overnight.

"To be honest, I was pretty disappointed with the way I bowled in the first two games.

"It was a moment of reflecting in the mirror and telling myself to be better and trust the way I bowl. Fortunately, it worked out today."
