The first round of Euroleague continued to bring exciting matchups as Olympiacos upset Barcelona while Monaco maged to beat Virtus Bologna. Elsewhere, Crvena zvezda lost to Anadolu Efes and Partisan suffered the same fate against Alba Berlin.

Barcelona failed to start the campaign on the right foot as a ten-point gap separated them from Greek side Olympiacos with a 70-80 showing off on the scoreboard. It was a tight match-up until the very end, however, Aleksandar Vezenkov managed to step up at the right time. The Bulgarian boasted a quarter of his team's points with 20 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, American Mike James shone for Monaco as they travelled to Italy. The visitors were victorious with a 66-83 score, James impressed with 26 points, three rebounds and six assists. His closest competition was his own teammate Alpha Diallo with 15 points and four rebounds.

In Germany, Alba Berlin became the first team of the season to hit the 100-point mark as they went past Serbia's Partizan through a 100-84 result. While Crvena zvezda got off to a far-from-ideal beginning with a 72-59 loss to Anadolu Efes scoring the least amount of points in the round.
