Galatasaray went top during matchweek four, and didn't relinquish their position once.
Fatih Terim was the man in charge when Galatasaray last won four in a row, and current manager Okan Buruk, who played under Terim during that four-peat, will now have eyes on breaking that record next year.
Additionally, they coupled this league victory with a run to the last 16 in the Champions League, which included a two-legged victory over Juventus in the play-offs and two home wins over Liverpool.
It wasn't all plain sailing, though, and there were some bumps in the road. So what were the key results and biggest wins for Galatasaray in the 2025/26 Super Lig season?
Alanyaspor 0-1 Galatasaray (September 26th, 2025)
Galatasaray started the Super Lig season unbeaten in 12 matches, including a seven-match winning streak. During that run, they managed to eke out a 1-0 triumph at Alanyaspor thanks to a Mauro Icardi goal, which was significant for several reasons.
It was important because it was a proper backs-to-the-wall job. You don't always play well, but can you find a way to get over the line? Alanya peppered the opponent's goal, having 22 shots to Gala's eight.
And the reason that the champions managed to hang on was down to goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir, who really announced himself as the club's new No. 1.
The former Trabzonspor captain joined last summer for around 30 million euros to replace departing club legend Fernando Muslera, and he was Man of the Match as he made eight saves, somehow keeping a clean sheet.
Ugurcan went on to have a sensational season, quickly turning himself into one of the leaders in the dressing room and a fan favourite.
Galatasaray 3-2 Samsunspor (December 5th, 2025)
After 14 matchweeks, Gala had a one-point lead at the top, and faced a tricky test against a very solid Samsunspor team. The Istanbul giants took a two-goal lead after half an hour, courtesy of goals from Leroy Sane and Victor Osimhen.
However, Samsun battled back, making it 2-1 after 56 minutes, before former Gala player Emre Kilinc struck to make it 2-2 with a few minutes to go of normal time.
It looked like a draw was on the cards, and they may relinquish their spot at the summit. But up stepped Osimhen, who scored a stunning overhead kick in added time to snatch a massive victory, keeping the momentum going for Gala.
Besiktas 0-1 Galatasaray (March 7th, 2026)
Heading into the business end of the season, Gala were busy taking on Juventus and Liverpool in the Champions League knockouts, so they had to juggle European football with their tilt for the title.
At the start of March, they had a four-point lead, before a massive derby trip to Besiktas, knowing a win would be pivotal if they wanted to retain their crown.
Gala dominated the game for an hour, as Osimhen put them up a goal just before half-time. But proceedings turned on their head with 30 minutes to go, when Sane was given a red card.
They felt hard done by, as it was quite harsh, but you learn in Turkey that the bar is extremely low for penalties and sending-offs.
Gala had to ride wave after wave of attack from that moment on, defending valiantly and putting their bodies on the line to secure the win. Ugurcan was imperious between the sticks again.
As well as hanging on for three points, they also secured some bragging rights and a lot of confidence, which helped them for the remainder of the season.
Goztepe 1-3 Galatasaray (April 8th, 2026)
Coming off the back of being knocked out of the Champions League following a thumping defeat at Liverpool, as well as a 2-1 loss at Trabzonspor, Gala looked to be running on fumes.
Osimhen had picked up an injury against Liverpool, so they also had to cope without their talisman for a few weeks. Their lead had been trimmed to four points, and fans were worried it could narrow further before their match against Fenerbahce.
So, it was absolutely imperative that they won at Goztepe. They soared to a 2-0 lead after 19 minutes, after a Baris Alper Yilmaz header and an own goal. It was looking comfortable, but five minutes after the interval, Juan Santos scored to cut the deficit in half.
From then on, Goztepe started throwing men forward in search of an equaliser, as Gala lost total control. They should have even made it 2-2, but Janderson produced one of the misses of the season.
Eventually, Mario Lemina headed home from a Gabriel Sara corner to ease the nerves and secure what was possibly the decisive victory in the title race.
Galatasaray 3-0 Fenerbahce (April 26th, 2026)
Holding a four-point lead with four games to go, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce faced off in a gargantuan clash. These two bitter rivals had been going at each other back and forth all season on and off the pitch, and Gala were now looking to put the final nail in Fener's coffin and end their hopes of a first title since 2014.
Fener started the game better and were awarded an early penalty. However, Anderson Talisca smashed his effort wide, and the momentum swung on its head from there.
Gala upped the ante and dominated for the rest of the game. Osimhen opened the scoring with a fine piece of individual skill in the 40th minute, before Fener goalkeeper Ederson was sent off for some ridiculous behaviour just after an hour.
Baris scored a penalty to then make it 2-0, before Lucas Torreira put the cherry on the cake in the 83rd minute.
That was the moment that everyone knew the league was truly wrapped up, as Galatasaray fans and players celebrated deep into the night.
