Jacob Fowler stopped 46 shots to lead the Montreal Canadiens to a win while Connor Hellebuyck and the brothers Tkachuk led New Jersey and Florida to big victories.

Columbus Blue Jackets 4-3 Philadelphia Flyers

The Columbus Blue Jackets (5-5-0) expectations were higher than ever coming into 2026/27, and while they're yet to get on a roll, the team have managed to step up when needed to keep themselves in the Metropolitan Division race. On Tuesday, they battled a division rival in the Philadelphia Flyers (3-7-4), and after the road team blew an early 3-0 lead, the game went to overtime as both teams were desperate to pick up two points.

After scoring the second of three first-period goals for Columbus, it was rising star Kent Johnson that picked up the winner in OT, with a goal and an assist from Flyers star Trevor Zegras not enough to secure the win as Philly still look to find their rhythm.

Carolina Hurricanes 2-1 Boston Bruins

The Carolina Hurricanes (10-2-2) look well on their way to defending their Stanley Cup crown in 2026/27, and against an Eastern Conference foe in the Boston Bruins (9-3-1), they once again showed how effective their style of play can be. An early goal to Jackson Blake had the game tied at 1-1 heading into the third period, and with just minutes left in regulation, it was star center Sebastian Aho that broke the deadlock, giving the 'Canes their final lead of the game.

Boston tried their best in this one, with Pavel Zacha scoring less than 90 seconds into the game, but given that they managed just 15 shots on the game against Pyotr Kochetkov, this was a much closer game for the Bruins than it deserved to be.

Chicago Blackhawks 2-1 Los Angeles Kings

The Chicago Blackhawks (4-8-0) and their fans are hoping their rebuild has come to an end, but once again in 2026/27, they're off to a slow start. They picked up a critical win on Tuesday however, and while they fell behind 1-0 against the Kings, they bounced back and held on in the end, with goals to Wyatt Kaiser and Roman Kantserov getting the job done.

In net, the team saw Spencer Knight stop 25 of the 26 shots he faced, and while the Los Angeles Kings (3-6-2) fought hard with Anton Forsberg making 25 saves of his own, the dreadful start for an LA team that had post-season hopes this year rolls on.

Montreal Canadiens 2-0 St. Louis Blues

The Montreal Canadiens (7-3-2) are a Stanley Cup favorite in teh Eastern Conference, and while they have the ability to win high-scoring games, Tuesday's win over the St. Louis Blues (5-6-1) shows much, much more. The star of the show in this one was Jacob Fowler, who stopped all 46 shots from the Blues, tallying a shutout to prove that the Canadiens have arguably the best goaltending tandem in the entire league.

Their two goals on the night came from Zach Bolduc and Florian Xhekaj, and while Jordan Binnington was solid, making 18 saves on 20 shots, it just wasn't enough as their offense couldn't solve the brilliant Fowler in this key matchup.

New York Islanders 4-3 Nashville Predators

Neither the New York Islanders (6-4-2) or Nashville Predators (4-3-5) are heavyweights in 2026/27, but given their blend of youth and experience, both teams have the talent to matchup with any other team in the National Hockey League. This matchup showed both sides of that coin, with Nashville doing well to recover from a hot start by the Islanders, who rolled to a 3-0 lead early in the second period before a strike from Ryan O'Reilly in the third period tied the game.

From there, things went to overtime and eventually penalties, and with Kyle Palmeri and Bo Horvat both netting their opportunities, this one was over quickly as the Islanders survived their blown 3-0 lead to pick up both points away from home.

New Jersey Devils 5-1 Dallas Stars

The New Jersey Devils (8-4-0) were highlighted by the debut of Connor Hellebuyck on Tuesday night, with the former Hart Trophy winner dominating, stopping all but one of the 17 shots he faced from an underwhelming Dallas Stars (7-4-1) offensive group. Captain Nico Hischier set the tone for the Devils, posting 2 goals and being one of three players with multi-point nights for New Jersey, and with their star goaltender arriving, this is a team that's now a genuine Stanley Cup threat.

For the Stars, Casey DeSmith clearly struggled, allowing 5 goals on 27 shots, and with just one goal from Justin Hryckowin on the night, it was a rare off-night for a Dallas team that have played well early in the 2026/27 campaign.

Florida Panthers 5-1 Winnipeg Jets

The Florida Panthers (7-4-2) haven't been consistently dominant in 2026/27 thus far, but when they're on, this is a team that can dominate like few others, and that continued on Tuesday as they easily dispatched of the Winnipeg Jets (4-5-3). Once again, it was the brothers Tkachuk doing the damage, with Brady (1G, 2A) and Matthew (4A) absolutely dominating the game, and with Akira Schmid stopping all but one of the 25 shots he saw, they cruised to victory.

This was another tough outing for a very competitive Jets team, but with Clay Stevenson struggling and just a goal to captain Adam Lowry to show for this game, it wasn't their best outing of the year as their solid start has clearly continued to wear off.

Minnesota Wild 3-1 Utah Mammoth

The Minnesota Wild (9-3-2) have been one of the NHL's best teams in 2026/27, and on the road against the division rival Utah Mammoth (8-5-0), they once again played their style of hockey to pick up a late victory. The first period was scoreless, but with three straight goals from Joel Eriksson Ek, Maxim Shabanov and Kirill Kaprizov, the Wild got on top and never gave up that advantage.

Logan Cooley would notch a late goal for the Mammoth, but it was simply far too little, far too late, with Jesper Wallstedt making an impressive 26 saves as the Wild once again showed that they're a true contender if they can stay healthy this season.

Vegas Golden Knights 4-1 Ottawa Senators

With a 6-2-0 record at home, the Vegas Golden Knights (9-4-1) have been downright dominant early in the year, with their latest win over the Ottawa Senators (8-5-0) shows just how talented and balanced the defending Western Conference Champions truly are. 34 seconds into the third period, Shane Pinto scored to tie the game at 1-1, but after that it was all Vegas, with goals to Raphael Lavoie, William Karlsson and Jack Eichel sealing the deal, as Vegas continue beating very good teams.

The Senators played a great two periods, but unfortunately, they just weren't up to the speed and intensity that the Golden Knights brought to the game as they move to 3-3-0 away from home this year, with Ottawa alternating wins and losses for their last 8 games now.

Vancouver Canucks 6-5 Anaheim Ducks

Early on in this game, the Anaheim Ducks (5-6-1) opened up a 5-2 lead on the Vancouver Canucks (3-10-1), but in thrilling fashion, the road team fought all the way back thanks to four third-period goals, the final two from Jonathan Lekkerimaki. Then, when it mattered most, the Canucks finished the game off through Filip Hronek with just 11 seconds remaining in overtime, as Vancouver finish off one of the most impressive comeback wins we've seen in recent years.

With two goals to A.J. Greer and three assists to Jackson Lacombe, there was plenty for the Ducks to like in this one, but ultimately, Lukas Dostal allowed six goals on 33 shots, and in the end, they come away with just 1 point after blowing a three-goal lead.
