1st Period
The most exciting series of the playoffs kept living up to its name after both teams exchanged two goals each within the first six minutes of the game.
Goals for the Kings were scored by Quinton Byfield and Brandt Clarke while Adam Henrique and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored for the Oilers.
With just over seven minutes left in the first, the Oilers tallied another on to take the 3-2 lead.
This time around it was Zach Hyman with the goal and assisted by Nugent-Hopkins, who scored the goal prior to this.
The first period finished with 24 combined shots and 20 hits between both teams.
But the Oilers went into the intermission after capitalizing on their power play, something the Kings failed to do with theirs.
2nd Period
A penalty-free period didn't see any goal scoring until the final five minutes - where we saw three goals scored.
Darnell Nurse scored his first goal of the playoffs to give Edmonton a 4-2 lead with five minutes left to go in the second.
Just under two minutes later his teammate, Trent Frederic, also scored his first goal of the playoffs to put the Oilers up 5-2.
And in basically the same time span between goals, Kings' Jordan Spence also scored his first goal of the playoffs to pull Los Angeles within two as they tighten the lead 5-3 heading into the third period.
Edmonton went into the second intermission outshooting Los Angeles 22-15 while being outhit 22-24.
3rd Period
After what was mostly an uneventful third period, the Kings pulled their goalie with three minutes to go in the game and it led to a wicked slap shot by Drew Doughty with 53 seconds left to pull within one.
But it wasn't enough after Edmonton's Connor Brown blocked one final shot in the Kings' zone before putting home an empty-netter to seal Los Angeles' fate, winning 6-4.
After losing the first two games of the series, the Oilers came back and won four straight to advance to the second round as they look to head back to the Stanley Cup Finals.
