At Flashscore, our aim is always to deliver you data that helps you read the game. Last year, we rolled out new stats across our football coverage and now, we are adding to those as well as categorising our expanded stats display.
Categorising our stats is all about making them easier to digest. We will be separating the TOP Stats from the rest - these are the most common metrics used in football and the ones that are used in betting contexts such as goals, corner kicks and cards.
This update is taking effect in up to 100 leagues, including all the top domestic competitions, international tournaments (such as the Champions League), domestic cups and more.
In our next update, we will be introducing detailed player stats to give you an overview and comparison of player performances in the match centre. This should be live in time for the FIFA Club World Cup!
What stats are we adding?
We are adding the following statistics to our football coverage to give you that extra edge:
xG on Target (xGOT)
xGOT is a metric that represents the probability of a shot on target resulting in a goal. Unlike xG, which measures the quality of the scoring opportunity, xGOT shows how the player executed that opportunity (it is calculated after the shot and only includes shots on target). Therefore, it takes into account factors such as shot placement, goalkeeper positioning, and other variables. The value for each shot on target is always between 0 and 1. The final xGOT value is the sum of the values for all shots on target.

xGOT Faced
xGOT Faced represents the number of goals a goalkeeper should have conceded based on the quantity and quality of the shots faced. The quality of each shot is calculated based on factors such as shot placement, goalkeeper positioning, and others. The xGOT Faced value corresponds to the xGOT value of the opposition.
Expected Assist (xA)
xA represents the likelihood that a pass will lead to an assist for a goal. It evaluates the quality of a pass based on factors such as its placement, trajectory, and the context of the attacking play.
Errors Leading to a Shot
A player’s mistake usually during open play that allows the opposing team to take a shot no matter if the shot was on or off the target
Errors Leading to a Goal
A player’s mistake usually during open play that allows the opposing team to score a goal
Goals Prevented
Goals Prevented reflects the quality of a goalkeeper's saves. It measures the difference between the number of goals a keeper was expected to concede based on the quantity and quality of the shots faced (xGOT Faced) and the actual number of goals conceded (excluding own goals). The higher the value, the better the goalkeeper's performance as they prevented more goals than expected.

Duels Won
The total number of times a player successfully engages in a one-on-one duel with an opponent, whether on the ground or in the air.
Long Passes
The total number of passes, excluding throw-ins, crosses, and goalkeeper throws, that were 32 meters or longer.
Categorising our team stats
Aside from adding the above statistics, we are also changing the way we display these stats to help you digest our growing data more easily.
Team statistics will be divided into the following categories:
TOP Stats
These are your go-to key stats to follow the game and the most well-known metrics used for betting purposes, such as corner kicks, and red and yellow cards.

We are sure that with our new football statistics and match displays, you will have that added edge needed to be one step ahead of the game!
