The committee was formed by the GFA and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation following a meeting between the two bodies in Accra on Friday, October 2nd.
Pappoe, who previously served as a vice-president of the GFA, will lead the search for Carlos Queiroz’s successor following the Portuguese coach’s departure from the Black Stars.
He will be joined on the committee by Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) General Secretary and former Ghana international Anthony Baffoe, legal practitioner and football administrator Agbesi Dzakpasu, former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah and high-performance specialist Faisal Chibsah.
According to the GFA, the committee has been mandated to identify, evaluate and recommend a suitable candidate for the vacant Black Stars coaching position.
The committee will subsequently submit its report to the Ghana Football Association as the process to appoint a new coach gets underway. The GFA and the Sports Ministry have said the recruitment process will be transparent and merit-based.
The Black Stars coaching position became vacant on Thursday, October 1st, after Queiroz resigned following a disappointing September international window.

Ghana opened their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with a 2-0 defeat to Cote d’Ivoire in Bouake before suffering a 4-2 home defeat to The Gambia.
The two results left Ghana bottom of Group C without a point from their opening two matches and increased the pressure on the Portuguese coach.
The GFA has now begun the process of identifying his replacement, with the new coach expected to take charge ahead of Ghana’s remaining AFCON qualifiers and other upcoming international assignments.
The committee brings together experience from football administration, former international football, legal practice and high-performance management as Ghana begins the search for its next Black Stars head coach.
