PSV are fully compensating their travelling support for their UEFA Champions League game in London against Arsenal after last week's historic defeat.

PSV lost 7-1 to Arsenal in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16. The loss was the biggest in their and any other Dutch club's Champions League history.

The gigantic loss still couldn't convince many PSV fans to skip Wednesday's away game in North London - a gesture the PSV board decided was worth repaying. The club has decided to pay for all travelling fans' tickets, a club spokesman confirmed with the newspaper Eindhovens Dagblad. The compensation means the fans just have to pay the travel expenses.

3,000 PSV fans will be present at the Emirates Stadium, driving the costs of the gesture up to a total of €200,000.

A rough start to 2025 meant PSV went from leading the league to trailing Ajax by eight points. The reigning Eredivisie champions also got knocked out of the KNVB Cup by Go Ahead Eagles. After last week's heavy defeat, the board decided to give something back to the fans.
