For the third time in his career Jesper Hansen has won "Det Gyldne Bur" ("The Golden Cage") Award originally launched by Tipsbladet.

For the third time in his career, Jesper Hansen from AGF has won the prestigious award.  In doing so, he equals goalkeepers such as Peter Schmeichel, Karim Zaza, and Jesper Christiansen, who also have won the award three times.

Eight of 24 first-choice goalkeepers in the Superliga and 1st division voted for Jesper Hansen as the best keeper in Danish domestic football in 2025.

Jesper Hansen featured amongst the Top 3 in Denmark in eight additional votes, which is why he claimed 16 out of a possible 23 votes, as you are not allowed to vote for yourself.

"Phew, of course I'm really proud of that. I have to say that.  I have tried to win it a few times before, and I know that it is the colleagues who vote, so it really means a lot to me", says Jesper Hansen to Tipsbladet.

Jesper Hansen got 33 points, while second in the vote was Elias Olafsson from FC Midtjylland with 27 points. Nicolai Larsen from Silkeborg IF came third with 25 points.

FC Copenhagen's Dominik Kotarski and Brondby's Patrick Pentz were amongst the keepers who voted for Jesper Hansen to win the award.

"I have barely been here for six months, but during that period, Jesper Hansen has been very solid. The team is doing well, and defenders trust him. I can only have respect for a 40-year-old man who delivers in that way", says Dominik Kotarski.
