Brondby managed to score their first goal in nearly 11 hours but still suffered an agonizing defeat when Egyptian striker Ibrahim Adel scored two minutes from the end to give FC Nordsjaelland a hard-fought 2-1 win against Steve Cooper's outfit in the Danish Superliga playoffs.

After 10 hours and 58 minutes without scoring, Brondby finally got on the scoreboard. It didn't help much, however, when FC Nordsjaelland turned a 0-1 deficit into a 2-1 win in Tuesday's match in the Danish Superliga championship playoffs.

Substitute Ibrahim Adel scored the match-winner a few minutes before the end of the match.

Thanks to the win, the home side moves into third spot in the table. Brondby is sixth and last. It was the tenth successive game without a win for Brondby.

It was the home team that took the initiative from the start. The speedy Prince Junior seemed well-prepared, and Oliver Villadsen at Brondby's right back was handed a tough job.

He had great problems keeping the Ghanaian out of the game, but on too many occasions, the home side failed to make the most of it.

The guests also had periods of possession, but in the final third of the pitch, it was clear that Brondby's strikers were not not exactly brimming with confidence.

Everything pointed to a goalless first half, but in injury time, Brondby finally got on the scoreboard.

On a counterattack, Nicolai Vallys squared the ball across goal for the onrushing Jacob Ambaek, who first-timed the ball calmly into the net from close range.

The home side intensified the pressure in the second half and were rewarded on the stroke of the hour-mark when Prince Junior, with a clever heel delivery, found Alexander Lind, who chipped the ball coolly over the advancing Brondby keeper Patrick Pentz.

The goal gave the home side momentum, and two minutes from the end, they stole all points when Ibrahim Adel finished off a creative move with a strong shot into the roof of the net.
