Mika Biereth did get one back for the visitors, but it was the late addition of Paul Pogba that will grab the headlines. The Monaco substitute made his return to competitive football for the first time since 2023.

Drama in the Premier League, who would have thought it?

19:57 CET - Ruben Dias has stood up for Manchester City to level at Newcastle United. The defender's effort finds its way into the net, and we have a grandstand finish at St James' Park.

19:52 CET - Newcastle United are ahead against Manchester City. They have ridden a few waves of pressure, and now lead in the 63rd minute through Harvey Barnes after good work from Bruno Guimaraes.

Elsewhere, Eintracht Frankfurt are 4-1 up against Koln, with Jonathan Burkardt netting a brace and extending their lead. Real Sociedad are now in front against Osasuna, as Goncalo Guedes makes it 2-1.

Alejandro Catena opened the scoring just before the break, before Brais Mendez levelled for La Real in the 53rd minute.

19:25 CET - In Florence, Rolando Mandragora has given Fiorentina a lifeline against Juventus, pulling his side level in the 56th minute.

Meanwhile, in Ligue 1, Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal has put Rennes 1-0 up against Monaco for his second goal of the season.

19:19 CET - Over to St James' Park, where Manchester City and Newcastle United are goalless at the break.

Despite the goals, there's been no lack of controversy. A crunching Fabian Schar tackle on Phil Foden was not given as a penalty by the referee or VAR, leaving the visitors fuming.

And it is the hosts who started the faster, earning a lead in the sixth minute through Polish international Jakub Kaminski.
