Swedish international playmaker Jamina Roberts will continue her career with Ikast after her former Norwegian club, Vipers Kristiansand, went bankrupt earlier in January. Earlier today Team Esbjerg announced that they have signed three players from the former Champions League winners.

Team Esbjerg have signed multi-year agreements with two young, talented national team players, the 20-year-old Swiss right wing, Mia Emmenegger, and another left-handed player, 22-year-old Nina Koppang from Sweden.

In addition, the experienced Dutch profile, Merel Freriks, will join Team Esbjerg on a short contract until the end of the season.

"We have looked at our needs on short- as well as on long-term basis and have acted accordingly. I am very satisfied that the club had the strength to act in the situation that arose, and we will now get a better team that enables us to maintain the high level of sporting ambition", says Team Esbjerg's head coach, Tomas Axnér.

Jamina Roberts joins Ikast with immediate effect and may already make her debut against Viborg HK on Wednesday in the Women's League.

Roberts has been handed a contract for the rest of the season, as injuries and a pregnancy have depleted the squad for coach Søren Hansen.

"Things have gone quite quickly in the past week, but our assessment is that we need to add an extra resource to our squad and I am very happy about the fact that we have succeeded in bringing in a player like Jamina with such great routine and quality", says Ikast director Daniel Grønhøj in the press release.
