As ever, we've picked out the matches you really shouldn't miss on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Take a look at our European Highlights below!
Tuesday, 20th January
Inter vs Arsenal - 21:00 CET
Up until the final two games of the year, Inter were locked at the top of the Champions League standings with Arsenal. However, two defeats in their final two league phase matches of 2025 has left Inter with a fight on their hands to keep their place in the top eight and avoid a playoff double header. Arsenal, meanwhile, have gone from strength to strength and sit top of the league after six wins from six.
However, Inter will take some comfort in the fact that whilst the Gunners are as solid as a rock defensively, they reminded their rivals on Saturday evening that they are far from goal machines.
In the Premier League at least, Arsenal have heavily relied on set pieces for goals. That is a huge weapon and one Inter should be wary of, but if they nullify their threat from set pieces, then Cristian Chivu's side have a good chance of keeping a clean sheet.
A 2-2 draw against title rivals Napoli earlier this month is also the only blemish in what has otherwise been a perfect start to 2026. So whilst in Europe, Arsenal have the advantage and better record, Inter have the momentum domestically. It is perfectly set up for a fascinating clash between two European heavyweights.
Tottenham vs Borussia Dortmund - 21:00 CET
It would be an understatement to say Thomas Frank is under pressure from all directions heading into his side's home Champions League tie against Borussia Dortmund this evening. Spurs have failed to win any of their last five matches in all competitions in what has been a barren domestic run. 14th placed in the Premier League and out of both domestic cups, another season is unravelling in front of their supporters' eyes.
However, victory against European giants Dortmund to guarantee at least a playoff spot in the Champions League and keep hopes of a top-eight finish alive would be the perfect way to start turning a sinking ship around. Despite having the same points and record in Europe this season, Dortmund are faring far better domestically than Spurs.
They are 11 points behind title rivals Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, but are six games unbeaten in all competitions and they have scored nine goals in their last three matches alone. Therefore, they will fancy their chances of getting a result in North London against a side licking their wounds from their recent barrage of setbacks.
Wednesday, 21st January
Galatasaray vs Atletico Madrid - 18:45 CET
The visitors, Atletico Madrid, come into this clash as the favourites. They have a superior record in Europe and are leading this season's league phase. Diego Simeone's men currently occupy 8th place, but with such a congested table, a win for hosts and 18th-placed Galatasaray will see them move level on points with Atletico. It has also become clear in the last few weeks, since Victor Oshimen left for the AFCON, just how much Galatasaray rely on their talismanic striker.
Defeat in the Super Cup and an underwhelming draw last weekend in the Turkish Super Lig were the low points of their time without the Nigerian. However, they are boosted by his return on Wednesday as one of Flashscore's players of AFCON returns to club football.
Simeone will also take comfort in the fact that his side have won their last two in the Champions League, whilst Gala have lost their last two. And despite an underwhelming Super Cup defeat in Saudi Arabia against city rivals Real, Atletico have responded with victories in the Copa del Rey and LaLiga heading into this clash.
They are the favourites and should win, but with Gala back to full strength and a home crowd guaranteed to create an intimidating atmosphere, anything is possible.
Thursday, 22nd January
Bologna vs Celtic - 18:45 CET
After losing their opening game of the league phase, Bologna have gone on a five-match unbeaten run in the Europa League, which has put them in contention for a top-eight finish. Impressive victories for different reasons against Salzburg and Celta Vigo in their last two outings will give the hosts further confidence heading into Thursday's early kick-off.
However, a dreadful start to 2026 domestically will be cause for concern, especially after a damning defeat to relegation-battling Fiorentina last weekend.
Celtic, meanwhile, have been instantly boosted by the return of Martin O'Neill until the end of the season after Wilfried Nancy's brief horror reign. Celtic have won their last three games since beginning the year with a dismal Old Firm Derby defeat, giving them some much-needed confidence heading into a vital match in their Europa League campaign.
Currently on seven points and occupying the final playoff spot, Celtic can't afford to lose in Bologna on Thursday; if they do, then qualifying for the playoffs will likely no longer be in their hands.
Roma vs Stuttgart - 21:00 CET
Our final European highlight of gameweek six is a fascinating one. Roma and Stuttgart have had nearly identical Europa League campaigns and come into this clash level on points in 9th and 10th, and just a point off the holy grail of the top eight.
The hosts have been in a mixed run of form, winning five matches but losing three since beating Celtic on Matchday 5. After a dream start to life as Roma boss, Gian Piero Gasperini has struggled to get his side to replicate the football Atalanta supporters became accustomed to under him, and results have taken a hit. However, his side are still in the top four in Serie A and on course for Champions League qualification.

Stuttgart, on the other hand, have stayed unbeaten since beating Maccabi Tel Aviv and are also on course to qualify for the Champions League. Nothing separates these sides on paper, but with a top-eight finish within touching distance for both, this isn't a match either will want to lose...
