Rasmus Hojlund is back in the Danish starting line-up, while Christian Eriksen will take his place on the bench when Denmark take on Belarus in the World Cup qualifier in Hungary tonight.

Hojlund has rediscovered his goal-scoring form after returning to the Serie A with Napoli, and national team coach Brian Riemer has rewarded him for his efforts by giving him a place in the starting lineup against Belarus on Thursday evening at the ZTE Arena in Zalaegerszeg, Hungary.

Riemer has made several changes in relation to the 3-0 victory against Greece at the beginning of September.

While Hojlund replaces Mika Biereth up front, Gustav Isaksen and Patrick Dorgu also feature in the starting lineup for Denmark on the wings. This means that Andreas Skov Olsen and Joakim Maehle must take their place on the bench.

Rasmus Nissen Kristensen left the national team squad preparations with an injury earlier this week, so his absence was already known.

In addition, Jannik Vestergaard slips into the defense together with Joachim Andersen and Andreas Christensen, so that Denmark plays with three central defenders.

The match will be played in Hungary in front of empty stands as Belarus has been deprived of playing at home, since the nation supports Russia in the war against Ukraine.

The Danish starting lineup:

Kasper Schmeichel – Joachim Andersen, Andreas Christensen, Jannik Vestergaard - Gustav Isaksen, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, Morten Hjulmand, Victor Froholdt, Patrick Dorgu - Mikkel Damsgaard, Rasmus Højlund
