High-flying Roma will fancy their chances of extending an impressive start to the season against a Cagliari side they’ve enjoyed hosting in recent history.

Match News and Current Form

A dramatic late equaliser earned Roma a 3-3 draw at Napoli on Saturday, meaning they are unbeaten after eight Serie A matches (W5, D3) for the first time since 2013/14. Gian Piero Gasperini’s men have been particularly strong at home, winning three out of four in the league (D1) and losing just once across all competitions in 11 fixtures (W8, D2). Scoring 2+ goals in the last eight of those games partly illustrates why the Giallorossi have been so successful, and it’s hard to see them being stopped here having won six of their last seven Tuesday-held Serie A games (L1).

Cagliari have lost back-to-back league fixtures for the first time since early April after a 2-0 defeat at home to Bologna on Saturday. That result also means a defence that was breached just twice in the opening five league games (W4, D1) has conceded seven goals across their last three matches (D1, L2), something that will worry manager Fabio Pisacane. His side still have more points (13) at this stage than any of their last five top-flight seasons though, aided by already picking up three away wins (L1), only one shy of the four they picked up in the entirety of 2025/26.

Head-to-Head History

Roma’s 1-0 defeat at Cagliari last season is one of only two losses across the last 22 H2Hs (W15, D5), with the Giallorossi winning nine of the last 11 clashes at home (D2).
